The BT137-600D,127 is a 4-quadrant sensitive gate triac for AC power control. With 600V rating and 8A RMS, it provides bidirectional AC switching. The 5mA gate trigger enables direct MCU drive through a resistor. 4-quadrant operation allows triggering in all gate/MT2 polarity combinations. The insulated TO-220F package provides 2500V isolation.

The BT137-600D operates as a bidirectional thyristor. (1) Blocking: Blocks voltage in both directions up to 600V when gate is not triggered. (2) Triggering: 5mA gate current in any quadrant triggers conduction. (3) Conduction: Latches on with ~1.3V drop in both directions. (4) Commutation: Turns off at AC zero-crossing when current drops below IH (10mA). High dV/dt (10V/us) ensures reliable commutation with inductive loads.
