Complementary to the BC858BW PNP, it is ideal for low-voltage switching and amplification in battery-powered and 3.3V/5V digital systems.

The BC848BW from Nexperia is a 30V, 100 mA NPN general-purpose transistor in an ultra-small SOT-323 (SC-70) package. With hFE of 220-475 (B-group), 100 MHz fT, and complementary PNP BC858BW, it is the low-voltage member of the BC846/847/848 family, ideal for battery-powered switching and amplification in 3.3V/5V digital and portable systems.

The BC848BW is an NPN bipolar junction transistor with 30V collector-emitter breakdown — the lowest voltage rating in the BC846/847/848 family. The lower breakdown voltage is achieved through a more heavily doped collector region, which also slightly reduces VCE(sat) compared to the 45V BC847BW. In active mode, current flows from collector to emitter when the base-emitter junction is forward-biased (VBE > 0.6V). The B-group hFE range (220-475) matches the BC847BW and BC846BW, enabling consistent circuit performance across the voltage range. The 30V rating makes it suitable for 3.3V and 5V systems with comfortable voltage margin. The complementary PNP BC858BW (also 30V) enables matched push-pull designs.
