The AP2210K-3.3TRG1 is a 3.3V fixed-output 300mA LDO from BCR (formerly Anachip/Diodes) in SOT-23-3, designed for low-noise, high-PSRR applications. The LDO uses a PMOS pass transistor: the gate is driven by an error amplifier that compares a divided-down version of VOUT against an internal bandgap reference (1.25V). Since the PMOS transistor is driven by the error amplifier output, the dropout voltage (VIN – VOUT at regulation) is determined by the RDS(on) of the PMOS: at 300mA, dropout is approximately 200mV, requiring VIN >= 3.5V for 3.3V output. The PMOS architecture inherently provides low ground current (65uA typical) that does not increase with load current (unlike NPN LDOs where ground current equals load current divided by beta). The EN pin (active HIGH) enables/disables the output with an internal pull-up, so the output is enabled when EN is left floating. The PSRR (Power Supply Rejection Ratio) is 70dB at 1kHz, making it effective at filtering switching converter ripple. Output noise is 30uVrms from 10Hz to 100kHz. The device includes current limiting (450mA typical) and thermal shutdown at 150C.
