The AD8541AKSZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices single CMOS rail-to-rail input and output operational amplifier in a tiny 5-lead SC70 package. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply with only 45uA supply current, making it ideal for battery-powered and low-power applications. The 1MHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.92V/us slew rate provide adequate speed for audio and general-purpose signal processing. The rail-to-rail input and output capability maximizes dynamic range in single-supply systems by allowing the input common-mode voltage to extend from the negative rail to the positive rail, and the output to swing within millivolts of both rails. The ultra-low 4pA input bias current (CMOS input) makes the device suitable for high-impedance sensor interfaces, photodiode amplifiers, and integrators. The AEC-Q100 qualification supports automotive applications. The no-phase-reversal feature ensures the output does not invert when the input is overdriven beyond the common-mode range.

The AD8541AKSZ-REEL7 uses a CMOS complementary input pair architecture to achieve rail-to-rail input common-mode range. Two complementary differential pairs (N-channel and P-channel) are connected in parallel: the P-channel pair operates when the common-mode voltage is near the positive rail, and the N-channel pair operates near the negative rail, with both pairs active in the middle range. The output stage is a Class-AB CMOS push-pull configuration that swings to within millivolts of both supply rails with light loads. The internal compensation network provides 1MHz unity-gain bandwidth with adequate phase margin for stability in unity-gain configurations. The CMOS input stage provides the extremely low 4pA input bias current, which is essentially the gate leakage current of the input MOSFETs.
