The NJG1144KA1-TE1 is a GPS Low-Noise Amplifier (LNA) module from Nisshinbo (formerly NJR) in a 1.5×1.1mm DFN-5 package, optimized for 1575.42MHz GPS L1 band. It provides 18dB gain with 1.5dB noise figure (NF), critical for GPS receiver sensitivity. The LNA uses a GaAs (Gallium Arsenide) PHEMT (Pseudomorphic High Electron Mobility Transistor) process which offers superior noise performance compared to silicon CMOS LNAs. The internal matching network provides 50-Ohm input/output impedance, requiring no external matching components. The module integrates a bypass capacitor and bias circuitry internally, needing only VCC and RF connections. At 2.7V supply, current consumption is 4mA. The high gain compensates for cable and filter losses between the antenna and receiver, while the low noise figure ensures the signal-to-noise ratio is preserved. The DFN-5 footprint of only 1.5×1.1mm makes it ideal for compact GPS modules in smartphones and wearables.
