The MIC2026-1YM from Microchip is a dual-channel power distribution switch with 500mA per channel, current limiting, thermal shutdown, and fault flag output in SOIC-8 for USB and hot-swap power switching.

The MIC2026-1YM is a dual-channel power distribution switch from Microchip in SOIC-8, each channel rated for 500mA continuous current with internal 1.0A current limiting. Each channel consists of a P-channel MOSFET pass transistor controlled by the enable input (IN1/IN2, active HIGH for the -1 suffix). When enabled, the MOSFET turns on and connects VIN to OUT. The current-limit circuit monitors the load current: if it exceeds 1.0A (typical), the MOSFET operates in constant-current mode, and the FLG pin pulls LOW to indicate a fault condition. Thermal shutdown at 150C junction turns off the MOSFET to prevent damage. The slow-turn-on feature (approximately 1ms rise time) limits inrush current when charging capacitive loads (e.g., USB device decoupling capacitors). Reverse-current protection prevents current flowing from OUT back to VIN when VIN is lower than OUT. The -1YM suffix specifies active-HIGH enable, SOIC-8 package, and industrial temperature range. Primary applications include USB port power switching, hot-plug power distribution, and peripheral power management.
