The 0154001.DRT from Littelfuse is a 1 A very fast-acting surface-mount fuse integrated into the 154 Series OMNI-BLOK fuse and holder assembly. The OMNI-BLOK design combines a Nano2 SMD fuse with a holder in a single package, allowing the complete assembly to be installed on the PCB in one step during SMT assembly. When the fuse blows, only the internal fuse element needs replacement — the holder remains soldered to the PCB, eliminating the need for desoldering and protecting the board from thermal damage during replacement. The very fast-acting (FF) characteristic provides rapid opening for sensitive semiconductor protection. The device is rated at 125 VAC and 125 VDC with a 50 A interrupting rating, and is UL and CSA approved.

The 0154001.DRT operates as a sacrificial overcurrent protection device: (1) Normal Operation — at currents up to the 1 A rated value, the fuse element maintains low resistance and negligible voltage drop, allowing normal circuit operation; (2) Overcurrent Event — when current exceeds the rated value, the fuse element heats due to I²R power dissipation; (3) Very Fast-Acting Response — the FF characteristic means the fuse opens very quickly at moderate overloads (typically within seconds at 200% rated current), protecting sensitive downstream semiconductors from thermal damage; (4) Arc Interruption — after the element melts, the resulting arc is extinguished by the filler material within the fuse body, interrupting the circuit at up to 50 A fault current; (5) Replacement — the blown fuse can be removed from the holder and replaced with a new Nano2 fuse without desoldering from the PCB.
