(1) Each of the four output channels consists of an N-channel DMOS transistor connected between the load (drain) and ground (source). When the channel is turned on, current flows from the battery through the load and through the DMOS transistor to ground. The 320mOhm RDS(ON) minimizes power dissipation at the nominal 1A load current. (2) The device can be controlled via two methods: parallel inputs (IN1-IN4) for direct PWM control, or 8-bit SPI interface for serial control and diagnosis. The PRG pin configures parallel inputs as active-high or active-low. The SPI provides readback of diagnostic information including overload flags, open-load detection, and overtemperature warning for each channel. (3) Protection circuits monitor each channel independently. Overload protection limits the current to 3-6A when a short circuit occurs. Overtemperature protection shuts down the affected channel when junction temperature exceeds 170-200C with 10K hysteresis.
