(1) Bandgap Core: The core circuit generates a stable 2.5V output by summing a PTAT (proportional to absolute temperature) voltage with a complementary-to-absolute-temperature (CTAT) voltage from a forward-biased diode. When properly trimmed, the temperature coefficients cancel, producing a nearly flat VOUT vs. temperature characteristic. (2) Curvature Correction: The patented curvature correction circuit adds a higher-order temperature compensation term that corrects for the nonlinear residual temperature drift of the basic bandgap, reducing the temperature coefficient to 2ppm\/C. (3) Laser Trimming: Thin-film resistors are laser-trimmed during manufacturing to achieve the +\/-2mV initial accuracy at 25C. (4) Sleep Mode: When the SLEEP pin is driven low (below 0.8V), the output stage is disabled and the supply current drops to 15uA maximum. This is useful for power-cycled applications.
