The control loop operates as follows: the error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage (derived from the output through a resistor divider) against the internal 1.285V reference, and generates an error signal. This error signal controls the peak inductor current through the PWM comparator. Each switching cycle, the high-side MOSFET turns on, ramping inductor current up until the peak threshold is reached, then turns off and the inductor current flows through the body diode. The switching frequency is internally set to 500kHz. The BOOT pin provides gate drive voltage for the high-side MOSFET via an external bootstrap capacitor. Soft-start is implemented through the CSS pin to limit inrush current.
